To engage the learners in a study of the Scripture text:
Distribute the “Missing Word” activity from the activity page, which you can download here. Have learners work in pairs to complete as indicated.
As a whole class, talk about the challenge of the Pharisee’s basis of concern versus what Jesus told them about His authority over the Sabbath.
To encourage personal application:
Distribute copies of the “Lord of the Sabbath” exercise from the activity page. Have learners complete it as a take-home activity.
End class with a prayer, asking the Lord for guidance and wisdom to show abundant mercy in the week ahead.
