To engage the learners in a study of the Scripture text:
Distribute copies of the “Why Appreciate Rainbows?” exercise from the activity page, which you can download here. Have participants work alone for no more than one minute to give their estimates as indicated.
After calling time, have participants voice their estimates for comparing and contrasting. (Larger classes should do this in small groups.) Use the question at the bottom of the exercise as a lead-in to the Into Life segment.
To encourage personal application:
Distribute copies of the “Meaning and Significance” exercise from the activity page to study pairs or triads. Have learners complete it as indicated. (Note: In light of the fact that this exercise requires very precise thinking, you may wish to consider carefully in advance how to pair class members with one another.) After calling time, allow the groups to share their conclusions with the whole class.
