To engage the learners in a study of the Scripture text:
Form learners into study pairs or triads as you distribute copies of the “Same Thing, Only Different?” exercise from the activity page, which you can download here. Challenge the pairs or triads to use smartphones for online research to complete the exercise as indicated. For best effect, do your own thorough research and reach your own conclusions beforehand.
To encourage personal application:
During the last five minutes of class, distribute copies of the “My Time Offerings” exercise on the activity page. Have learners fill it out for the week just past, as indicated. After discussion, invite learners to take the slip of paper to check the squares in the week ahead. Either now, next week, or both, you can allow volunteers to share results, but don’t put anyone on the spot.
